They usually reports to senior engineers of Construction & Facilities. They supervise maintenance activities of professional trades and contract personnel. Observe call logs to make sure appropriate and correct completion of maintenance items. Review and process invoices as required. Multi-unit retail maintenance and supervisory experience is a value addition for his performance. The supervisor directs equally the work of staff and prevents the exploitation of resources to influence less problems and ensure the safety of all assets. Candidates must have the aptitude and wish to think critically and react rapidly, the ability and readiness to analyze ever-changing variables to ensure the best possible prioritization while minimizing risk. Creative problem-solving abilities and a strong desire to succeed become performance criteria for them.
Strength, stamina and mobility to perform heavy physical work out of doors in all weather conditions and with exposure to potentially hazardous conditions may be required. He has to use varied hand and power tools, drive a motor vehicle; lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to ninety pounds and greater with the use of proper equipment. Familiarity with a variety of field maintenance tasks, including light refrigeration and electrical, equipment repair, light carpentry and petroleum service etc will make them exceptionally important at the site. He is answerable to all questions and provides information related to repairs including resolving problems, approving expenditures, handling complaints and providing technical expertise in area of assignment. Most importantly, he or she must interact professionally with customers, vendors and company employees. Conducting scheduled inspections, functionality testing and maintaining compliance records as required also comes under his/her responsibility. He/She has to respond to emergencies as necessary and should maintain a data base of replacement parts and other equipment parts for service work performed is his/her duty. The role requires basic training to the newly recruited staff for getting better results.
