Position Description:
A major international design practice with offices in Leeds has a specialist team of design-focused architects dedicated to working on National UK Educational projects. They have completed projects such as Northampton Students support centre, Islington Academy, Leeds Metropolitan University, North Liverpool Academy and the award-winning Northumbria University. There is a fantastic opportunity for Senior Architects to exercise their creative talents and direct a regionally-based team working on both national and regional education commissions.
Requirements
RIBA Part III or ARB registered architect
Demonstrable ability to produce buildings of architectural merit
Significant post-qualification experience: participating in all aspects of design, project management, dealing with clients' enquiries, attending site and client meetings
Ability to communicate graphically and orally
Capable of providing advice and support on issues specific to the Education sector
Participation in all aspects of Architecture design, project management, client management
Positive inspirational management style
Responsibilities
Managing architectural commissions from inception through to completion
Assisting in the execution of projects within defined design and cost parameters
Management of projects of varied size, so as to achieve the clients objectives to cost and programme
Building and maintaining client relationships
Coaching and leading a team of design professionals
Effectively managing both your own time and that of your team, which may be allocated to more than one project at once
Mentoring colleagues and supporting professional development of the team
The Individual
Excellent knowledge and experience of the Education sector
Design capability will be a key strength and core skills will include the ability to draw and articulate design concepts appropriately
Creative, self motivated and hard working
Keen to develop further within a design-focused role
Will work as a member of a team, lead by example and contribute to team performance and progression as well as demonstrating use of initiative
Proven client and contractor management skills
