Position Description:
A Gigantic consultancy in South Yorkshire have an exciting opportunity for a developing Structural Engineer to join one of their successful and rapidly growing technical teams.
You will assist in all aspects of design, preparing structural engineering documents, solving complex problems in connection with structural engineering elements of a range of projects, providing structural design calculations, dealing with authorities to progress projects, communicate details of design to the draughting team, ensuring projects are running to schedule, reporting any problems, utilizing engineering analysis software to carry out design of structural elements, carrying out basic checks by hand on scheme designs as well as checking more complex computed design, carrying out site investigations, review structural engineering documents for code compliance, and reviewing shop drawings and materials.
Candidates will possess a good engineering degree (MEng or equivalent preferable); have a keen interest in Structural engineering; have detailed knowledge of materials, detailing, construction techniques related to structural engineering principles and building codes; and be computer literate (Word, Excel & engineering analysis software).
