Position Description:
Due to expansion, my client has a vacancy for an experienced Design Engineer to join its team based in their Manchester office.
The main function of the role is to engineer designs for electrical substation projects up to a voltage of 400kV. Amongst the various tasks required for this role, the Design Engineer will carry out the following:
- The contribution to the development and training needs of the Design Team as appropriate to the skill level / experience.
- Ensuring all duties are carried out in accordance with standard Company Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental Procedures and Work Instructions.
- Upon contract award, liasing and co-ordinating contract requirements with Project Manager, customer, external suppliers and other Departments at earliest opportunity.
- Establishing Design content of work package and the Design resource to achieve the required time scales, via development of detail engineering design plans.
Successful candidates will have previous experience in a similar role as well as ideally gaining a formal qualification in Electrical Engineering.
