Position Description:
Linear Recruitment has strong ties with the UK’s leading Construction Contractors, and are currently working alongside some of the biggest names in the North of England.
Our is looking to appoint a Supplies Officer to their established team, requirements and responsibilities are as follows:
To provide assistance in the supervision of employees involved with Buying, Stores and Materials Handling.
To have responsibility for the buying function, in liaison with the Senior Buyer, in relation to “Call Off Contracts”, spot buying, raising of official orders, including sub-contract work and delivery of supplies within agreed limits. To issue and evaluate tenders and quotations within a pre-determined limit.
To ensure that appropriate inventory records are maintained.
To monitor and control the handling of and the processing of income from the disposal of obsolete and surplus material.
The successful individual will:
Have experience of working in a supplies/stores environment.
Be able to drive and hold a current driving licence.
Ability to be self-motivated, and work co-operatively as part of a team.
Ability to carry out stock control and inventories within the Stores function
Ability to work to tight deadlines.
