Position Description:
My client is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join a team providing of a range of Engineering Services to external and internal customers in the retail, leisure, commercial and industrial sectors. You will become a key member of this stable and innovative design team that provides services ranging from conceptual to detailed design, technical consultancy and project management.
Reporting directly to the M&E Leadership Team you will be responsible for and carrying out the full range of professional tasks and services to meet client requirements and ensure all projects are compliant with legislation, regulations and current Codes of Practice; and deliver projects on budget and to client driven timescales.
You will be involved in:
Designing and implementing electrical building services installations
Act as Job Leader
Work competently on an independent basis
Communicate directly with Clients
Prepare technical and financial proposals for new work
Manage workload of Project Discipline Engineers and Technicians (including verification of quality)
Prepare and take responsibility for concept and preliminary engineering solutions for detail design
Prepare Technical Specifications
Monitor financial performance of jobs
Set up and manage job/project administrative systems, including planning and monitoring job resourcing/expenditure (adjusting these as necessary).
Ensure senior staff are kept informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the client are achieved.
Ensuring all relevant staff are informed of client matters.
Continually ensuring that practices, policies, strategy and services represent the clients best interests and that company policy is in keeping with current legislation, British Standards and Codes of Practice etc.
Previous experience circa 10 years as a Consulting Engineer and proficiency in carrying out design and calculations using Amtech or Hevacomp is essential. A completed Degree or HNC/HND in Building Services or Electrical Engineering would be ideal as well as being chartered or showing evidence of working towards chartership.
