Position Description:
As one of the leading Housing Contractors in the North of England, my client is one of the Sunday Times’ ‘Top 100 Companies to Work For’.
This role is ideal for somebody with good commercial awareness who likes to rise to a challenge.
Unlike many Construction Company’s estimating functions, which are essentially number crunching operations, my client prices works for Housing Associations, who have very tight budgets and therefore need to make cost saving and value engineering suggestions, to try to get to a financial position which is acceptable to both parties. These may include alterations to design, specification and scheme mix
In essence they are setting job profitability at pre contract stage rather than the industry norm of leaving profitability as a function of the Quantity Surveyors.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with in the Social Housing field, and be qualified to HNC or Degree level in a construction related subject.
