Position Description:
Our client is a high-value consultancy, engineering and project management services to the world’s energy, power and process industries. With annual revenues of over £2.3 billion, They deliver and maintain strategic and complex assets for its customers. They employ approximately 22,000 people in more than 30 countries globally.
We have been asked to recruit a Senior Buyer for their site in the East Yorkshire area working for one their leading clients.
Key Tasks:
1. Effective utilization of our e-Sourcing system;
2. Managing Procurement events (RFx’s) to deliver against an agreed Procurement Plan;
3. Evaluating bids and making recommendations based on commercial and technical factors;
4. Negotiating and agreeing contracts;
5. Develop and maintain an up to date knowledge of appropriate EU Procurement legislation, policies and procedures, ensuring their correct application in any Procurement Event;
Identifying potential suppliers who are looking to enter the market;
6. Liaising with key stakeholders, both internal customers and external suppliers.
7. Monitoring progress of various existing contracts and organizing Procurement Events 8. Conducting research to ascertain market trends and needs;
8. Producing reports and statistics using computer-based programs;
9. Conducting presentations about market analyses and possible growth;
10. Keeping contract files and using them as reference for the future;
11. Checking cost, quality and levels of service;
12. Ensuring suppliers are mutually aware of business objectives;
13. Liaising with Finance to ensure correct payment mechanisms are in place;
14. Training and supervising the work of junior members of staff.
15. A good standard of numeracy, to be able to analyze facts and figures and then make sense of them within a business context;
16. The ability to make important decisions and to cope with pressure from meeting demanding targets and tight deadlines;
