Position Description:
Our client is an award winning national major civil engineering contractor and has proven and extensive civil engineering and project management skills, delivering engineering excellence through cost-efficient, client focused solutions from minor works through to major infrastructure projects. They require an experienced Project Manager who will ideally be degree/HNC/HND qualified and with excellent communication and team playing abilities. Working on mainly roads, highways and general civil engineering schemes, your main responsibilities will be:
To profitably complete projects in accordance with the clients specifications and to ensure client satisfaction where possible
To plan resources and ensure any shortfalls / over re-sourcing issues are resolved in a timely and cost effective manner
To coordinate and manage any interface with other parts of the division
To ensure all personnel within your control including subcontractors work in accordance with the company policies, are trained, competent and aware and in particular work safely
To jointly prepare project Cost Value Reports & Contract Status Reports with commercial staff
To liaise with estimating to provide value engineering expertise, lessons learnt etc to allow the division to submit quality, competitive tenders to our clients
To deliver project schemes profitably and to time to enhance the firm’s reputation and look to further business
To assist in recognising new client targets and developing an approach to target with Commercial Manager
Ability to manage all personnel within your control professionally and effectively
