Position Description:
Working on contracts in excess of £10 million the successful candidate will be office based, with a requirement to travel to sites throughout the UK to create an environment where managers are aware of the time implications of projects.

Key Responsibilities
To assist the Site Team in obtaining the timely completion of projects without incurring penalties
To monitor the use of planning techniques and tools, identify the company’s needs, develop or locate answers to the needs and implement their use
To develop managers’ knowledge and appreciation of planning techniques and tools
To ensure that programmes produced meet the needs of the project
To advise Contracts Managers and Construction Managers of problem areas and suggest actions
Visit sites as required but on a minimum monthly basis to ensure programmes are regularly updated, targeting sites’ needs
Review project programmes to ensure adequacy of allowances, particularly in relation to the finishing stages
Highlight critical end dates for key activities
Check adequacy of resources to achieve programme intents and actual outputs achieved to date against time taken to date
On the basis of current performance, check projected completion date
Assist managers, where required, to achieve regular updates
To listen and observe and then to advise and help managers develop action plans
Advise managers of the effects on the project of changes to progress
To monitor the use of planning techniques and tools, identify the company’s needs, develop or locate answers to the needs and implement their use
To develop managers’ knowledge and appreciation of planning techniques and tools
To ensure that programmes produced meet the needs of the project

Our client is a privately owned Construction company with over 70 years experience in the industry. With a turnover in excess of £120 million and over 600 employees nationwide they are looking to recruit an experienced site manager due to an increase in contracts won.
