Position Description:
Working for a well - established and expanding construction organisation, with an exceptional reputation for building and refurbishment for commercial, domestic and industrial clients.
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director you will undertake all pre - contract estimating duties on open and negotiated tenders up to £2.5m in value.
Tender documentation may comprise outline drawings, specification and drawings or bills of quantities presented under a traditional or design and build form of contract.
Project types vary from small refurbishment works to new build developments for Universities, Hospitals, Religious Organisations, Retail, Industrial and Domestic Clientele
Experience Required:
- Significant demonstrable experience of preparing competitive tenders to meet tight deadlines.
- Self motivated and ability to work under pressure with limited supervision
- Computer literate
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Good knowledge of construction
- Good measurement skills
Key responsibilities:
- Preparation of sub-contract, plant and material enquiries
- Measurement of quantities
- Detailed analysis of sub-contract returns
- Calculate net cost of labour, plant and materials
- Identify tender risks
- Present analytical estimate for internal adjudication prior to submission
- Negotiate with Employer’s Representative and Sub-Contractors
- Prepare files for post-contract team on award of contract
