The Role

A vacancy has arisen for a Project Estimator working for Construction Midlands based in Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing bid costs for construction projects for Business Unit adjudications, ensuring a competitive net bid. They will also be responsible for supervising and coaching less experienced Estimators to assist in their career development. This role reports to the Bid Centre Manager.



Key Accountabilities include:

Check, acknowledge and amend tender documents, enter details on to RIMS.
Select subcontractors and material companies from Unison, abstract information into packages.
Organise copy of tender documents for appropriate parties.
Arrange pricing document production, internally and externally, and enter onto ISEC or Causeway.
Answer queries from subcontractors/suppliers, visit sites, rate up pricing sheet.
Present nett tender at adjudication meeting.
Compile \\\'Green Sheet\\\'
Prepare information packages for handover to construction team.
Brief team on tender bid and attend pre-contract design meetings.
Supervision of Trainee Estimator / Estimator.



Skills and Capabilities

Candidates should be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of the single stage bid process, and should have solid experience of working on projects of a value of £10 million plus for a major contractor.

Salary £45000- £53,000
