Working on behalf of a leading Construction Main Contractor I am currently recruiting for a Bid Manager / Technical Bid Writer to join a growing bid and business development team.
Reporting to the Managing Director, the Technical Bid Writer will take responsibility for the development and successful delivery of pre-qualifications, proposals and tender quality submissions throughout our operational area.
Key Tasks
• Planning, writing and coordinating responses to PQQ’s, bids and tenders
• Take a prominent role in the bid/no bid decision making process.
• Ensure the timely preparation and submission of pre-qualifications to enable to company to be invited to tender for opportunities.
• Ensure the timely preparation and submission of bids and qualification documents to include all the necessary information so that the opportunity is secured.
• Responsible for managing and maintaining information held on the Easy PQQ software (internet based database)
• Compiling, updating and maintaining the company library of standard literature
• Identify the client’s key requirements and organise/manage appropriate market research to support the bid
• To develop and maintain effective working relationships with relevant clients.
• In liaison with the Business Development Manager, identify and pursue profitable new business opportunities
• Develop and maintain case studies for marketing information and the Company website.
Skills & Experience
Ideally the successful candidate will have been involved in construction at a site based level to provide the practical/technical knowledge, coupled with a proven track record of successful bid writing and bid management
You must also have:
• Excellent communication skills
• Good creative and writing skills
• Highly organised, excellent prioritisation skills and a good eye for detail
• Be flexible, proactive and enthusiastic
• Be able to build and maintain strong relationships
• Be computer literate and competent in the use of Microsoft Office packages
Salary on offer for this high profile position is in the region of £35,000 to £45,000 per annum dependant on skills and abilities. You will also qualify for a company car or car allowance, Bupa membership, generous pension and life assurance.
