Working with one of the leading contractors to the UK water industry I am currently recruiting for a mechanical engineer to work on a variety of water and wastewater treatment projects based from their office in Derby.



In this position you will be working alongside the contract and project delivery teams to ensure the appropriate design, procurement, financial control and site activities of your allocated projects are achieved within a safe and timely manner and within budget.

Duties / Responsibilities

· Procurement of mechanical equipment

· Take an active role in client and internal design reviews

· Liaise with contract delivery teams to undertake cost to complete / budget reviews

· Negotiate with subcontractors and suppliers

· Preparation of subcontract orders

· Preparation of / assistance with the evaluation and submission of claims for variation works

· Liaise with site management and site teams to make sure work is completed to budget, programme and quality

· Innovations to current standards



To be considered for this role you should be a mechanical engineer with a minimum of ONC / HNC / BEng in mechanical engineering. You should also be commercially aware, an excellent communicator, proactive, self-motivated and customer focussed. Ideally you will have prior experience working on projects in the water industry.
