Working on behalf of a leading contractor in the water industry I require a Contracts Engineer to join their busy South West office and to be responsible for management of mechanical and electrical schemes with overall responsibility for profit and loss on contracts undertaken.

To be considered for this position you will need to have excellent commercial and contractual awareness within the water industry from a similar position. You will also need an industry applicable qualification such as ONC/HNC or BEng or NVQ equivalent in an appropriate engineering subject. You will also be IT literate, proactive, self-motivated, customer focussed and have excellent organisational skills.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:
• Outline engineering of schemes from inception to completion using inhouse resource, site installation and construction personnel
• Timely completion of multiple concurrent schemes within budget with safety of paramount importance
• Liaise with client’s to ensure KPI’s are met or exceeded taking into account budget constraints
• Attend internal and external meetings for review and progress as well as site visits and meetings
• Gather preliminary and detailed design / project requirements and ascertain solutions
• Prepare estimates and quotes
• Complete contract documentation
• Manage site health, safety and environmental issues
• Liaise with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors, in-house teams (site installations and construction)
• Procurement of materials, plant and specialist subcontractors
• Attend / undertake factory site and works testing, commissioning and client training
• Compile and collate contract documentation, “As built” drawings, test sheets etc. for O&M Manuals
• Establishing and agreeing price variations and final accounts
