Position Description:
I am seeking the skills of a senior transport planner who is looking for an opportunity to progress to Principal status. Working with both the Transport and Traffic Planning Group and the Strategy and Policy Department, you will responsible for developing policies and plans to facilitate the delivery of the Mayors Transport strategy.
You will have a broad understanding of a range of relevant analytical models and processes and will be able to manage, coordinate and support subordinate staff, such as transport modellers, and transport planners. You will have the skills to effectively project manage schemes of up to 500K in value, and will also act as the project director for schemes up to 125K. You will have a relevant degree and at least 4 years experience in strategic transport planning and/or major projects. At least 2 of these will have been within the UK. You will be able to develop transport-planning methodologies and undertake quantitative modelling, GIS or spreadsheet analysis and/or interpret output from transport planning models, tools and databases. You will have a high standard of written and oral communication and a background in undertaking consultation.
