Position Description:
A bridge engineer, approaching or recently chartered or Incorporated, is required to assist in the delivery of a diverse range of major and minor projects for the Highways Agency, Local Authority and other clients.
Based in our Leeds office the successful candidate will be part of the bridges team undertaking inspection, design, assessment and strengthening of highway structures. There is also scope to provide supervision of works on site.
You should have good time management skills in order to keep on top of your individual work as well as being a good team player who is committed to making every project a success. You would be responsible for the design, assessment and inspection of a wide variety of structures, working with many different design teams in various problem solving situations. You should have good interpersonal and communication skills in order to liaise with clients on a regular basis. As part of your role you would also assist with the estimating, cost reporting and forecasting for projects.
You should have appropriate experience, preferably of working on Highways Agency (HA) or local authority projects and a good knowledge of HA standards, policies and processes, including the DMRB. Good IT skills, covering Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD is also an essential.
