Position Description:
Our client is a large, dynamic and highly successful company who have a great reputation in the building, property development and construction industries. They were named in the Sunday Times Profit Track 100 list, and have won a variety of prestigious industry awards.
They are currently looking for a Project Manager to oversee a New Build project in West Yorkshire. This is a demanding and challenging position that is central to our client’s growth strategy where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring their continued success. Your career progression will equally reflect your own ability and achievement as that of this dynamic and constantly developing organisation.

Ideally candidates will have come from a trades background, although this is not essential.

As Project Manager your main duties will include:

• Maintaining Health & Safety ensuring operatives and subcontractors operate according to risk and method statements
• Managing materials ensuring quantities and materials on site
• Manage subcontractors, labour and plant and resources
• Managing build ensuring company standards on site are adhered to
• Monitor plant equipment costs and preliminaries including set up, cost of plant and office
• Knowledge of budgets helps to ensure minimum waste, ensure best value
• Apply contra charges to contractors
• Discuss with Quantity Surveyor and Buyer site issues and suggest alternatives
• Organise and schedule site operatives
• Create, monitor and review site programme
• Attend and contribute pre-start meetings
• Work to programme and where possible ahead of time
• Monitor and review quality insurance
• Ensure good public relations with neighbours and the public
• Deliver and monitor safety induction to site operatives
• Check deliveries
• Communicate the client’s job vacancies to site operatives
• Carry out Health & Safety, machinery, plant, scaffolding, excavation and quality inspections
• Vet drawings and if necessary liaise with Technical Department to ensure it is practical to build
• Produce site diary
• Record proof of deliveries
• Check and record weekly safety inspection sheets, material requisitions, personal protective equipment registers, permit to dig.
• Update week registers for scaffolders, plant and excavation
• Organise, chair and minute team site meetings to discuss issues and circulate to senior management if necessary
• Log and record accident report forms
• Produce weekly homes report and progress report, monthly management report


The successful candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:

• NVQ 3, ‘A’ Level, HNC, or equivalent qualifications or equivalent experience.
• Good knowledge of building regulations
• First Aid Certificate essential
• Scaffolding certificate essential
• Appointed Person Safe Use of Cranes course
• CITB 5 day Site Managers certificate
• Construction Skills Certification Scheme level 3
