Senior Drainage Engineer

£35,000 - £45,000 per annum



Job Description

As Senior Drainage Engineer, you will provide full project management to the Immingham and Grimsby element of the Doncaster, Immingham and Grimsby (DIG) Surface Water Resilience Innovation Project.

Working as part of the Drainage and Coastal Defence team, you will project manage the Surface Water Resilience Innovation Project and may be asked to contribute to the full range of Lead Local Flood Authority duties including approval and inspection of sustainable drainage systems.

The required qualifications/competencies are:

• A minimum of HNC or equivalent in Civil/Structural Engineering
• At least three years’ experience within a drainage/coastal defence discipline
• Experience of supervising drainage works on site
• Site surveying skills
• Effective IT skills with the ability to use MS Office
• Experience of using CAD
• Understanding of relevant Health & Safety legislation including the 2015 CDM Regulations
• Experience of working to time and budget constraints with the ability to plan, prioritise and organise work to resolve problems and deliver services
• Ability to access sites alone, some of which will be in off-road locations
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Flexible to meet the needs of the service which may require attendance at meeting and events outside normal working hours
• Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
• Experience of supervising staff
• Experience using drainage simulation software
• Knowledge of procurement processes and contract management
• Current driving licence
• Experience of working to time and to budget constraints
